KINDERGARTEN!! YIPPEE!!!!

Austin, at the door of Mrs. Bate's room...
His first project of the day!
Caden, Austin and Mommy - ready for the day!
Austin, Daddy and Caden...let's go!
Austin and his Kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Bates!
A girlfriend sent me this poem the other day, and it's oh so appropriate for this special day!!

He started school one morning,
And he seemed so very small.
As I walked there beside him
In the Kindergarten hall.

And as he took his place beside
the others in the class,
I realized how all too soon
Those first few years can pass.

Remembering, I saw him as
He first learned how to walk.
The words that we alone made out
When he began to talk.

This little boy so much absorbed
In learning how to write.
It seems as though he must have grown
To boyhood overnight.

Oh how I longed to stay with him
And keep him by the hand
To lead him through the places
That he couldn't understand.

But he must have his chance to live,
To work his problems out,
The privilege to grow and learn
What life is all about.

And I must share my little boy
With friends and work and play;
He's not a baby anymore --
He's in Kindergarten today.

Lincoln City fun!

The Lee Family at the beach!

The summer ended with a fun weekend away to Lincoln City with the whole family. My parents, sister & family, Grandma & us. It was good. The boys really enjoyed the beach experience, as we hadn't been there in 3 years (when Caden was only 6 weeks old...bad parents, bad parents!!). We'll be back before another 3 years passes. I promise! :)

Today is our official last day of summer, as Austin starts Kindergarten tomorrow. We are all so excited!!

Austin and cousin Zack in the water!

Got too wet - in just shorts?? burr!

The 3 boys cousins playing in the sand!

Caden liking the sand - surprising!

Where did time go?

Last time I posted we were just starting potty training with Caden...and that almost two weeks ago! I'm happy to say that he is doing SOOO good - we couldn't be happier! Just mastering #2 takes a little longer...,but that is to be expected!! Good job Caden! He'll be off to preschool for sure this January...yippee!

What else? It's been a crazy busy summer! Austin is so excited to start Kindergarten next week (for the 2.75 hours that he'll go in a week)...more exciting for the following week when he'll go for the 5 days!

Our boys are just growing up - potty trained...going to public school...both very exciting!

With that, comes a new adventure for me! Dave just faxed in my paperwork to Silpada Designs to become an Independent Rep! I'm so excited and can't wait to receive my jewelry - it is so beautiful - to be able to wear and share! So, that's something new for me. I've been researching Silpada for over 2 months now and couldn't be more happy about my decision!

So - enjoy these last days of summer (where is the sun???)...and take care!!

No turning back

Yesterday morning I was checking emails when Caden walked in holding a pair of underwear and said, "I wanna wear these". So - okay - those were the key words that Austin said when he was ready and it worked well!

So, he's been wearing big boy undies for two days now and doing great! He's had a couple of accidents, but for the most part he knows when he has to go and thinks it is super cool when he does (ok...for the most part he is going outside on the rocks, barkdust, etc...it's a boy thing...and it's hot out!). He was dry even when he woke up this morning. Dave, Austin & I are so excited...it's super cool for our little guy to make this big boy move! Way to go Caden!!

(So on Sunday when I was running errands by myself I came across a box of Huggies at Target on Clearance. I had told Caden last month when we bought a box of diapers at Costco that we didn't want to buy more - that was the last one...at $40 a pop. So, I got the box the other day, thinking we might need them but was THRILLED to take them back tonight!! He is working towards a new backpack, as he knows that he gets to get a backpack and go to school (in January) when he is 3 and potty trained!! Yippee!! Can you tell I'm excited??)

Sunriver 2008

We've been home for a week now and I've been meaning to post about our vacation the whole time! The end of July we spent a week in Sunriver, our favorite close to home vacation destination with my parents. We love it there! Here's the rundown of our week!!

Friday - arrived late, had our annual Ponderosa pizza! Settled in and to bed!

Saturday - got on our bikes and rode to the airport, where they were having a Fly-In with the plane and classic cars. Fun! Then rode to the Village for lunch (yummy Aloha food!) and to enjoy Sunfest!

Sunday - Rode to the Village in the a.m. for breakfast (donuts!) at Hot Lava! Yum! Enjoyed a little more of Sunfest and the boys played putt-putt with Dave & my Dad. Then to North Twin Lake for an afternoon of fishing! We were all so dirty, but it was fun!

Monday - Pool time!! We had a great time at the South Pool...the boys just love the slide! Lots of good people watching there too! We enjoyed the park too that day, until Caden got injured...

Tuesday - My Mom and I went to Bend to shop at the Old Mill shopping center and then to lunch...fun times and a little girl break! That afternoon we took the boys to the Village for the bouncy house and a goody at Goody's!

Wednesday - My parents went to Sisters, while the Lee Family just stayed at the house...sat in the sun, enjoyed the last day!! Can't wait until next summer, if not sooner!
