40 years, oh my!

Happy Anniversary to my parents today - 40 years! Yippee! They are in California celebrating in Disneyland, their favorite vacation destination (where they used to go on dates, growing up in S. California). Above is a picture of my Mom, outside the Chapel that they got married in on April 4, 1969 - although this picture was taken in 1968 (my Grandma wrote the wrote date on top). Funny thing is, I have a picture of me outside of this chapel take in July 1999 when I went to Vegas for the first time to show my parents I was there. Then a little over a year later Dave and I eloped to this same chapel, knowing it had great luck (and it is world famous...and been in many movies...really!)!! :)

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

We are all (the boys and I...not Dave) decked out in our green - are you?? Last year the boys and I were so sick with the flu on St. Patty's Day, we didn't even get out our jammies! Today we enjoyed a wonderful visit from Cristi & Hudson and just being at home. Hope today was full of lots of luck for you!!

Sunshine day!

Gotta love this sunny NW day! And they are calling for snow this weekend? Crazy, crazy year for weather...that is for sure! Nothing profound to say, just enjoying a sunny, happy day!! :) Have a great weekend!!

L...O...V...E

Almost two weeks until my BFF and I go to Vegas for a 2 night get-a-way. Well, we're going for her nursing conference, but we are excited to sneak in a lot of fun! After being friends for over 20 years, I think this would be the first trip we've ever taken together somewhere. Yesterday we purchased our tickets to see Cirque du Soleil's LOVE show at the Mirage and I'm so excited! I've never seen one of these shows, and hear they are wonderful!!

Oh, my Caden!!

Yesterday was just one of those days! Started off great with the gym, Starbucks and Caden's buddy over to play.

Then, it started to go downhill. A tantrum from Caden...Austin fell on his scooter and split his lip...and we all had a cry in the afternoon, feeling tired and overwhelmed.


We mustered up the energy to get to basketball practice, knowing we would see good friends there and have a good time. Little did I know that our evening was far from being over! At the end of practice, Caden started to walk on folding chairs (bad idea) and ended up falling and splitting his little head in the back. Thank goodness for friends there to help stop the bleeding (on my white sweatshirt!) and calming down Austin (yes, he freaks out when bad things happen).



I thought it was going to be okay without a stitch or two, but after Taco Bell and a bath, it still looked nasty. Dave got home from school early, and I rushed Caden to the same day service -- getting there at 7:50p.m. (and the closed at 8p.m.). I don't think they were happy to see us. But, in the end, the gash was worse than it looked and required 2 stitches. They are blue this time. We've talked about chairs are for sitting in, and nothing else, as this is the SECOND time for him in 6 months to get a stitch or two in his head - because of the misuse of chairs. Oh, my Caden!

March??

Wow - it's the end of the first day of March, 2009...ALREADY!! I know, it's been said time and time again - "time flies", but man, it really does every year!! So, here's to a month of more posting, as I've been very neglectful of my little blog, spending too much time on Facebook (gotta love it, it just is addictive!).

So, February was good - fast, but good! Here's what we've been up to:

The month started out with having our neighbor, Mark & Shelly over for Superbowl...fun day!

Shelly & I...feeling very tired after sitting for so many hours!!We've had a variety of weather - from sunny, warmer days...and more snow! It's been quite the winter!! We enjoyed the Zoo on a cloudy, but nice day. The boys love the freedom of the Zoo to explore and roam!

Caden has had his own play dates with his best friend, Kason. They are so cute together, and will be going to preschool together in the fall. Yeah!

Aren't they adorable??? They are 3 days apart and so much fun!

Austin started playing basketball again and LOVES it! He is doing great...making lots of buckets and rebounds, and asks Dave to practice every night. He is number 4 on the blue team...

We had a great Valentine's Day together as a family...went to eat at Chipotle, and ate inside (that's really cool to the boys!).

The boys stayed the night at my parent's house, giving me the opportunity to shop at Clackamas Town Center for hours by myself! Woo-hoo!! Dave got to enjoy some adult beverages at the NASCAR party...he was quite the hoot that night to our neighbors, just wanting to visit. Hmm...no pictures for this one (probably a good thing).

We've had lots of birthday this month, but my Godson turned one year old this week, and my Mom, Austin, Caden and I had a great time at his first birthday party!

And here's just the boys...having a "relaxed" Friday morning apple, watching Word World...their new favorite PBS show!

What's on tap for this month? Lots, actually! The boys both start outdoor spring soccer at the end of the month...which will be the first time they will both be playing (call me an official soccer mom??). I'm also going with my BFF (Hudson's Mom) to Las Vegas for two nights...we can't wait! A lot more birthdays coming up this month and next, so I can see it's going to be busy...but that's how we like it. Until next time - enjoy!

Last week, my parents graciously offered to take Caden for a day/night so he didn't get sold on eBay (ha, ha...he is a strong willed 3 year old...just like his mother was). So, it was a great opportunity while Dave was at school for Austin and I to have a date! We started off with going to lunch with Ammy at Applebee's to give Caden to my Mom...and then headed to Big Al's! We had a great time bowling (although he beat me by 1...with bumpers) and played several games! We then headed to Taco Del Mar and sat in our favorite umbrella covered/lighted seat, and then did a little shopping! It was a ton-o-fun, and we were happy to go get Caden the next day. He's been such a good boy since coming home- maybe we just needed a little break from each other! :)

Happy 2009!

Hello and happy 2009! The year has been great, so far (in the 4th day now!). Hope that this year brings everyone happiness, and fun with family and friends! 2009 is going to be very fine! Ha, ha! :)
