Boarder down

I just went outside to get our mail, when I noticed a cute boy (probably around 11) in the middle of the street crying. His older friends or siblings were standing nearby just looking at him. I walked to the mailbox and asked if he was okay. He quickly got up and brushed away some tears and said he was. He walked next to the other two boys, still holding his hand and crying. I asked again and he said he was okay and assured me he didn't think anything was broken. One of the other boys thanked me for asking (wow!).

These three boys were so cute, clean and polite, in a time that many teenage boys are not. They were just being boys, skateboarding. I put my life into fast forward for a minute with Austin and Caden. I would hope someone would ask if they were okay, if one of them were crying in the street. Mostly I would hope they would be polite and thank someone for asking too.

I looked out the window after I got inside and they were gone. Hope they made it home safely.

Steal of a deal!

I tried to get it focused more, but couldn't. You can hopefully see
that the shirt was regular $12.50 - marked down to 47 cents!

I love to shop, but I love a deal more than anything. I went to the mall on Sunday for a little bit (by myself!) and wondered into Old Navy. They had a couple of racks right inside the door...with items on sale. I started looking and couldn't believe the prices - 47 cents for a long sleeve t-shirt...or 97 cents for a sweater! I walked out with 2 sweaters and 1 long sleeve tees for $2.61 (including tax!). What a deal!!

Z is 6

Zack and Austin (in disguise!)

Austin so proud of himself during the relay (without any help!)

Yep, big Z (Zack) is now 6 and we had a great time at his party. I forgot my camera there, so just now able to post a couple of pictures from his big Star Wars wing ding! Fun times!

Happy 6 years, big Z!

Love,

AUNT Lori

Our "Karate Kid"

Before the big night, with his proud Mommy & Daddy!

Posing with Mr. Jordan, his karate teacher. The kids absolutely love him and he is great!

We are so proud of Austin and his first Karate Graduation! He has earned his next level belt and is so excited! These last 4 months have been so much fun, but also a lot of time and dedication for the whole family. Hopefully he'll continue to love it and keep on working towards being a "black belt". Thanks to Premier Martial Arts, as they have made it a great experience for us all.

Keep up the good work, Austin!

Boys...

Not a real subject of this post, just two pictures of the boys taken today.

Caden loves the rocking chair that Aunt Sissy gave us (it was Lexi's)...and was proud to give us a cheesy smile with his beloved binkie in his mouth (those will be going away sooner than later).

Austin might be fighting a little cold and finally gave into resting, rather than playing outside today. He has a big weekend ahead with Dad's day tomorrow at school, karate graduation tomorrow night and Zack's 6th birthday party on Saturday. He'll get another dose of Airborne when he wakes up.

Happy Thursday - it's so nice and quiet in the house right now with both boys sleeping!

Get peddling, babe!

Four months and counting until our annual Sunriver vacation...can't wait!

So I cleaned up Austin's first bike and brought it inside for Caden to practice. He is scooting around, pushing with his legs, just like Austin did at his age. Hopefully over time, he'll catch on to use the pedals and will be ready to ride this July!

Summer is just around the corner, as we made it through the winter...yeah!!

St. Patty's Day Reception!

Chris and Irene!
Dr. (I mean Uncle) Phil and Auntie Jen!
Me and my dress...bought the dress and shoes almost a year ago! So glad to have somewhere to wear it too! Thanks for the reception, Erin & Dougal!

I had a great time at Erin and Dougal's wedding reception last night! Great time with family and friends to socialize and dance with (even though Irene wouldn't dance!!). Don't think I have any other friends that are not married - no more weddings or receptions in the near future! Oh well!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

The NW has been showered with another beautiful weekend! We been outside with the boys working in the backyard...pulling weeds, pulling up grass and preparing for our sprinkler system to be installed this spring. The boys had lunch outside and enjoyed a delicious, but messy popsicle! Looking forward to more spring and summer days!

Lovin' the big mouse!

Caden watching "his show"!

Caden hasn't been a kid to watch much TV, which is great, however he has found his match. Can you say M...I...C...K...E...Y M...O...U...S...E! He absolutely adores the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse television show on the Disney Channel! He squeals with excitement and dances to the music. Can't wait to meet to big mouse in Disneyland this May! Hot dog!

Beach Boy!

Last Friday was beach day at Austin's preschool...

He had a good time dressing up, wearing flip-flops (in the rain)...and doing fun things that Preschoolers do at school! To be four again...

Lovin' the lickin'

This afternoon after coming home from a playdate at Rion's house and getting Caden down for a nap, Austin and I made peanut butter chocolate chip cookies! Yum, yum!

Austin had a great time helping and turning the Kitchen Aid on and off. Of course, his favorite part was licking the beaters and spatula. He's no fool!

All pooped out...

Yep, Caden was all pooped out for sure Saturday night. Apparently he was a bit constipated and after working at it all day, he conked out on me...and continued to sleep after getting his diaper changed. Took a lot out of the little guy, literally.

We went to the Zoo!

Just hanging in the sunshine at the Zoo!
Austin and his "wingspan"!
Caden in the sandbox, going down slide! What's next?
Ride 'em cowboys!

We've been so happy with the weekend weather that spilled over into today! So as soon as I knew that today was going to be nice, I packed a lunch for the boys and we spent a couple of hours at the Oregon Zoo. The boys had the best time playing in the sand box a couple of times (against my cleanliness instincts...and it turned out okay).

Enjoy the photos!
