Boxing is a hit in our house on the Wii...here's a couple of videos of our Saturday night party with cousins Lexi and Zack.

i want my mommy....

Austin is often like Dave with many traits (athletic abilities, etc.), however I can safely say he is my son too. My sister invited him to elementary school BINGO last Friday night with his big cousins, Zack - 6 and Lexi - 9 (almost 7 & 10). She extended the fun even more by asking him to stay the night at their house. They live only 3 miles away from us and he has been around them constantly since birth (she cared for him when he was an infant/toddler while I was still working). He was all excited and left our house around 6pm to play BINGO. Around 8:30 p.m. I received a call from Lisa stating that he was feeling home sick and sad, but they were going to try to work things out. Of course this was the one evening in eons that Dave went to play poker with the guys. I told her to let me know soon if I needed to come get him, as Caden was still awake (well, tools were all over the place as I was disassembling his crib to make it into a toddler bed). Long story short, I picked him up and all was well and he feel asleep on the couch shortly after getting home. Saturday morning the first thing he said to me was, "I know how I can cheer Lexi and Zack up - they can sleep at my house tonight". Yep, that is how the story ended...they came over Saturday night for pizza, Wii playing and a slumber party for the four cousins. Fun, fun.

That rambling paragraph didn't explain how he is my son though. Well, I clearly remember the first time I went to spend the night somewhere other than my grandparent's house (Austin does fine at Ammy & Papa's house). I was around 5 years old and it was at Elizabeth Winkler's little red house. We watched Wizard of Oz and had a fun time. But...I wanted to go home too...and I did. I was a home body for the most part and didn't enjoy summer camps either when I was growing up (where's my Mommy??). I'm okay with him wanting to be home and with me anyhow, as he is growing up so fast!

N...I...K...E

Wow...that's a word that we didn't use much in the Lee Household for the 5 years that I worked at adidas. But now that I've been gone for almost 2 years...(and totally not loyal to their brand!)...I am pleased that Austin's new basketball shoes that Dave bought him yesterday are Nike! Yeah! He is excited too (not over the brand, but the sport and his new shoes!).

Caden...our big boy

Last May I purchased a crib tent, as Caden had decided during our vacation to California that he didn't want to stay in any bed...or any length of time. Since he wasn't even two years old, I decided this was the route to go...to continue napping...good sleep habits, etc. I remember Dave asking how much it cost and thinking that it didn't matter, if we still got naps and a full night of sleep. It wasn't a hit at first, but then he started to like it...asking to be zipped up before going to bed. A couple of weeks ago to our surprise he started to appear out of his room...out of his tent. It was a tight little zipper in a casing, so he kept amazing me when he got out. He was good to go back to bed - hasn't been much of a problem. So tonight while Austin was at Zack's house (that's another story) and Dave is having a guys poker night, I asked Caden to show me how he unzips it. It was fast and easy for the little guy. So...I took it down, took down the side of the crib too, to reveal a toddler bed for our little toddler. He was thrilled and now fast asleep. Wish us luck and lots of sleep in this new adventure - it was a tough one for Austin...but hopefully Caden will snooze right through it!

Here's CC fast asleep - even with a little pillow out of the toy room. Going to make him one to match his room tomorrow in the red gingham. :)

A couple of weeks...

Seems like the last couple of weeks have been busy, with me organizing and cleaning (what??...me??) and the boys had another cold. So tired of them getting sick! So, here are some pictures/videos from the last week or so. Caden is thrilled with his new pajamas (footed) and says that they have "boots". Very cute! Austin is extra excited as today is pajama day at school and he has the share bag. Should be fun!

Ok...here we go...

Daddy is still at school...time for bed!

See, my new jammies have "boots"!

Austin becomes a PRO bowler on the Wii!

And this morning...here are their videos in the "boat". Great imaginations!

Lee Look-alike Meter

This is fun - I've done it several times with several different photos of both the boys and they mostly say this (although everyone tells us how much more Austin looks like Dave...and Caden looks like me). I guess we just look like a family! :)

Cristi's Shower

cristi's shower, originally uploaded by mama.milton.

Yesterday was the big shower - Cristi's baby shower that Caroline and I had been planning for months. We were all happy on how well it turned out and all the showering of love and gifts to this little boy! She is due March 2nd...and we can't wait to meet this little guy!

Wanna play a game??

I've been asking Dave for awhile for shelves in the toy room. Ta-da - Dave did the project in-between NFL playoff games. Thanks - looks great and holding lots of games (out of the boys' reach, for obvious reasons). Wanna play?

Not feeling pressed...

For over 5 years now, I have ironed all little boy clothes as they come out of the dryer and before they are hung/folded. I've enjoyed having all their clothes in their closets and drawers ready at any time without wrinkles. A couple weeks ago, right after Austin's birthday, I was tired of the build up of ironing to do (as they still had plenty of clean clothes to wear, so I was procrastinating). So, for the first time I put their clothes away not ironed. I only did it once and decided that I would compromise with ironing their shirts (in smaller batches!) and just put away their pants (as they aren't usually as wrinkled). So far, so good. They don't look any different and it's saving me a little time and sanity.

Still ironing my own clothes daily, and not planning on throwing in the towel any time soon!
Call me crazy, that's okay.

Wii are having fun!

We've had a great time the last week with our Wii...Dave and I are both sore from boxing, tennis, baseball and bowling. I get whipped every game we play (even against Austin) until last night when I bowled a 238. I was pretty impressed with myself, for about 24 hours.

As you see above, my husband and son played while I was cleaning out the cat pan. My record is gone now, as Dave bowled all strikes with only 2 spares. Oh well, it still fun!
