when you...

mix a little of this:

(ice cream sundae glasses were found at my Grandma's garage sale over the weekend - first time I had ever seen them, but they are the perfect size for the boys!)

and my camera left in Austin's reach...and this is what you get:

(Can't wait to say good-bye to those Huggies - sooner than later, I hope!)

couple of things...

Yesterday at Austin's soccer game, something clicked. He got it - run after the ball hard and kick it. Don't dance and prance around silly! My sister came to the game with her wonderful camera and got this action shot!

Good game, Austin! Three goals is quite impressive for one game!

And...

Happy 2 months old to Mr. Hudson! Time is flying! Here's a picture of me with him sleeping a couple of weeks ago!

I finally have a tiara!!

Lisa gave this to me last week on her blog...so I thought I would showcase it proudly! She gave it to me saying, "she has been known to like shiny things". Yes, I do...it's lovely! Thanks...

April 22nd already? I was at the store today when the lady asked me what the date was...and I think the only reason that neither of us could remember was the weather. Is it supposed to be raining this hard this late in the spring...everyday?? I still wore capris and flip flops.

Another great workout at the gym today! It wasn't too bad, and Dana and I worked hard on her favorite machine (not sure what it was, but it was hard in a good way!). Looking forward to our aerobics class again on Friday.

Nothing much more to report - hope you're staying dry and happy!

and a half...

Austin asks almost every day if he is five and a half yet...and every time I tell him he will be in June...June 13th to be exact. We're getting closer, buddy, you are almost there. He is great on keeping up on every one's age - knows that Caden is two and a half...Dave just turned thirty eight this last week and that I was ...until today. So I thought he would be excited to hear that I was thirty three and a half today, but as Dave said, "Austin, do you care?"...he answered "no". Hmm...not what I was expecting!

Austin is playing at his cousin's house this afternoon (mostly with his best cousin, Zack) and I asked him to tell Aunt Sissy what was important about today. He came out of playing video games with Zack and said, "I got to come over"...no..."you're leaving (with a smile on his face)"...no..."oh, you are thirty three and a half today...bye Mom". Love that little boy!

I did it...I did it!

For all you "workout queen/kings" out there, this might not be too exciting...but for me, it is! I was encouraged by my friend Dana to attend the Aerobic 101 class this morning at the gym, so I did, as she promised I would be okay and not die. And guess what? I didn't die! I actually enjoyed the whole hour!! The boys did great again (a little wilder this time) at the Kid's Club and we left there all feeling happy. I could get used to this!

TGIF...have a great weekend!

game!

Erika tagged me to play this little game...looks like fun! Here's the rules:

Post these rules @ the beginning of your blog. Answer the questions about yourself. At the end of the post, tag up to 5 people and post their name, then go to their blog and leave them a comment, letting them know they've been tagged and asking them to read your blog.

What was I doing 10 years ago:
Wow - that's a loaded question! Well, ten years ago I was just splitting up with my then husband (I can hear the gasps now!!...Austin & Caden don't know this about their mommy yet...)...anyhow, I was living in an apartment in Beaverton, OR, working for Renaissance Bankcard Services. My career in HR was taking off and I made wonderful friends working there that I am still super close to today! I shopped too much...was racking up debt...and living the best I could as a 23 year old! What can I say - you learn from your mistakes and all things happen for a reason...and from working at Renaissance, I was introduced to Dave in a blind date in September 1999...and the rest is history (we even paid off that debt of mine!)! :)

Five Snacks I enjoy (not that they are good for me...but I enjoy!):
Chocolate - any kind will do!
Maui Onion potato chips
Latte - I think this is a snack too!
Wheat Thins!
Hard candy

Things I would do if I were a billionaire:
Payoff our home, as well as anyone in our family
Buy vacation homes for us in several states - CA, TX, HI, VA
Buy a home in WA for my parents and Grandma
Buy a new fancy car - heck, why not? If I were a billionaire!
Save for the future - for Dave and I, and the boys
SHOP...no limits...I can't even imagine!!!

Five jobs that I have had:
Babysitter throughout high school for various families
CS Associate at Fred Meyers - in Children/Women Apparel
Receptionist at Wave Works Hair Salon
Human Resources Generalist - Renaissance/Household/adidas
Stay at home Mom of 2 years - busiest and best job ever!

Three of my habits:
Shopping...for the best bargains I can find - love it!
Constantly cleaning
Internet Surfing

Five place I have lived:
Sandy, Oregon
Phoenix, Arizona
Beaverton, Oregon
Tigard, Oregon
Vancouver, Washington

What are your FAVORITE Jammies?
Depends on the season - in the fall and winter, I love flannel pajamas (oh, how sexy!), and in the spring and summer, it's usually drawstring pants/shorts with long or short sleeved t-shirts - nothing fancy, but comfy!

Who Am I Tagging? I know it's not too many...but if you want to do it too, go for i t! Irene is one of those great friends that I met at Renaissance...and Tara is a friend that I met through my sister - who recommended me to Treehouse (thank you!) and is my leader through Sensaria (and who we see at the soccer field on Saturdays this spring!). Have fun!

accomplishment!

Today that boys and I headed out of the house at 8:30...to the GYM! We signed yesterday and checked it out...and had a great visit this morning. The boys had a wonderful time in the Kid's Club (Caden's first time left somewhere that is not with family/friends) and can't wait to go back! I was able to get a 40 minute workout in, that felt great...no interruptions!

Going back Friday morning - looking forward to it!

Happy 38th Birthday, D!

Today is Dave's 38th birthday! Too bad that he has work and school all day...so we'll celebrate a little more tomorrow (he isn't a big birthday person, like me though!!).

Have a great day, honey! The boys and I love you lots and lots!

Monday, Monday

What a cold, dreary day after a warm, wonderful weekend in the Northwest! Today marks the 6 year anniversary of the day we found out that I was pregnant with Austin - how time flies!

The boys had a wonderful time at my parent's house on Thursday and Friday, spending lots of time outdoors and getting thoroughly dirty! They also had an adventure with Papa to get their hair cut where he goes, to the library and to Dairy Queen for lunch. He's so sweet - he waited a half hour for Caden to finish his ice cream cone. The patience of their sweet Grandpa!

Caden's haircut, with spikes! Saturday started with Austin's soccer game at 9am, in the warm sun. We were productive the rest of the day, with even the little pool action in the afternoon. We all loved the warm weather!

Caden at the park, after watching Austin's soccer game patiently!

The boys loving the sun, in their little tiny pool!

Sunday was another good day, playing outside most of the day...enjoying every minute before the week began and rain started to fall.

Can't wait for more warm weather - lots of it...we need a really warm (hot) summer this year (this is what warm weather does to the boys...after a long day!)!!

Tomorrow is Dave's birthday - here's what the boys got him...so fitting!

less than $50...

An evening at the mall by myself can be a thrill adventure! I found such great deals at every store I went to...

So...here's what I got for less than $50 bucks!

2 matted 8x10 picture frames
3 packs of note cards (cute too!)
package of cute cardboard coasters
2 jewelry making finds
1 black summer dress
4 cute! spring/summer tops

Viola...can you believe it? It makes me so happy to make money stretch, and get great things at the same time!

I'm off to run errands today, visit my bff Cristi and 6 week old Hudson, and then out to my parents to visit and retrieve the boys!

Happy Friday...happy sunny day! Have a good one!

homework

Austin counting...
I was so excited when Austin got homework last night! To celebrate their 100th day in school this year, they were to bring a 100 of "something". He did such a great job counting out these marshmallows, making 10 piles of 10 marshmallows!

so proud! he has 100...

Now, if we can keep this excitement about homework forever, that would be great!

Caden helping too!

On another note, the boys are staying the night at my parent's house tonight. I've been busy doing all kinds of things that are harder to do with them, and looking forward to visiting baby Hudson tomorrow morning!

Have a great Friday!!

Spring Break recap!

Spring Break was loads of fun for the whole family!

  • The week started off with pizza and movie night on that Friday...we all enjoyed The Bee Movie.
  • Then Saturday afternoon we took a drive out to my parent's house in Sandy, and got some fun snow!
  • Then...well, the only bad part of the vacation was a little tummy bug that visited Dave and I...but recovered pretty quick!
  • By Tuesday, we were at the Zoo, in the sunshine, having a great time! We later went to the school playground nearby, and the boys had a blast!
  • Wednesday was another beautiful sunny day that included Austin's dentist appointment (yeah...no cavities!)...and then soccer practice (coach forgot, but we had a nice play date at the park with friends instead!).
  • Thursday was the last real sunny day that included some more yard work and a visit to another park.
  • Since the rain was coming in on Friday, the four of us took a trip to OMSI and had a blast!
  • Saturday we had Austin's first soccer game, followed by a nice dinner date at Auntie Jen, Uncle Phil and Anson's new house.
  • Sunday was the wrap up of the week, with me taking my sister and her family to the airport to go to Disneyland, and then I met my Mom at my Grandma's house to work in her garage. Trying to move someone out of the house (and garage, and barn, and shed...) that they have been in for 38 years is A LOT!!! It was fun to be with my Mom, and the day ended with dinner at Austin's favorite restaurant! The boys had a fun time playing with Daddy all day long. :)

Today is back to the routine - Dave back to work...Austin back to school...and I'm back to whatever I do. Ha, ha!

Another Lee

A couple of weeks ago when we had the flu (yuck!), I read a book. That shouldn't be a big deal, but it is to me, as I don't often read books too often...or in just a couple of days. But since I didn't feel well, it was the perfect opportunity for me to read this interesting story. It was an easy read, but a very touching story about her life and how she became who she is. She is my kind of chef - love the whole semi-homemade idea...and her show is great too (especially how her outfit matches her kitchen...I just LOVE it!).

Anyhow - I've been referred to as "Martha" in the past on occasion and would rather be referred to as "Sandra" instead! :)

All because two people fell in love...

39 years ago Herbert Wheeler and Donna Applegate got married in Las Vegas, in a little chapel. That's where it all started...my parents are the happiest, most loving people you would ever meet! So, when Dave and I decided to elope in 2000 (did you know we eloped??), there wasn't a question about where I wanted to get married. Yep, in that same chapel that is little, tacky, and famous (in Honeymoon in Vegas, Vegas Vacation, etc...), but only because I knew that there had to be good luck vibes from there as my parents were married there too!

So, happy anniversary Mom & Dad! We love you SOOOO much!

and no, not The Beatles! This picture was taken on Easter! We usually have a ton of pictures, but not too many of just the four of us!

Oregon Zoo!

We had such a beautiful sunny (but rather cold!) morning at the Oregon Zoo with friends! We all had a great time! Enjoying spring break...yeah!
Our two little bears! Dave, enjoying the Zoo with the boys!
My two little monkeys, with me!
