Another fun summer day!
Yesterday we headed out to Sandy to my parent's house for a fun, summer day for my Dad's birthday. We all went to the Sandy Mt. Festival's parade - which I haven't been to since I walked it the summer of 1991!! Agg!! We all had fun...with Austin WANTING way too much...Caden sleeping on me with the sun in his little face...enjoying the sights and the summer! Here's some pictures taken on the way to the parade...and afterwards!

Hope you had a fun birthday Papa - we'll see you tomorrow for the official party!

movin' movin' movin'
Movin' seems to be the theme this year.
Now here's where the theme comes in. I remember my first best friend from Kindergarten (Elizabeth) and when she had to move...to Umatilla, Oregon of all places. That happened in 5th grade and so I became best friends with Tami...another friend of mine. Then guess what? They moved too...to Klamath Falls, Oregon. I then met my current best friend of almost 22 years, Cristi and although we've both moved in our twenties, we are back in the same area. However, at my two most significant jobs in the ten years I had the same encounter. At Renaissance we hired into the HR department the most wonderful girl, Anissa. I was single at the time, she was new to the northwest and we hit it off. After I met Dave, he became good friends with her husband Todd and we both had families. Then boom...a little over 3 years ago, they moved to Austin, Texas. We visited them there a couple years ago and still keep in touch. And then my last job at adidas, I worked with Lee-Anne and we became good friends...husbands included too. We shared our first pregnancies together at work, had the same OB and had our babies just 5 weeks apart. Then it hit...they were moving north to Everett, WA. Darn it. What's with my luck???
I'm not having a pity party, but starting to feel bad for little Austin. When he started pre-school a couple of years ago he instantly hit it off with two kiddos...Rion and Jenna. Rion was the first friend to have Austin over for play-dates at 3 years old and they had a lot of fun together. Then I remember running into his mom at Wal*Mart when she said, "oh, yeah, we're moving".
Then Jenna...I remember Austin telling me that this girl was "cool", as she would play with the boys too. We were lucky to play indoor soccer with her that following winter and they were a couple. Austin even announced at school this last year that he was going to marry Jenna and it's been a joke for a couple years now. Anyhow, Jenna's mom called last week and said that they were moving to Kansas...and they leave today. I think I am still in shock. They had just recently moved into another home and got settled in. Wow...I'm so happy for them, but still it hurts to see more friends go.
First, my Grandma moved from her home of 38 years to her NEW manufactured home on my parent's property. Big project, that has taken over 6 months to do...and it's still not done. Secondly, my sister is moving too - to Eugene, which isn't too far, but still not a couple minutes away like she is now. The weekend was operation stage to sell, and I enjoyed the job of shopping for new things. Loved the 7 hours of shopping, spending their money. Their home is on the market now and they hope to have a quick sell.

Jenna came over for lunch yesterday before they went to camp at their pre-school.
Ok - back to my sister moving. That means that Austin's "best cousin/best friend" is moving too. Zack was the guy that kept Austin happy when I was working...his built in best buddy for life. My sister and I didn't have cousins growing up and just love that the boys are so close to Lexi and Zack. Although I know we'll still see them as much as possible after they move, it's going to be the biggest blow of all.
Everyone else out there that we are friends with...please stay put for now. I don't want anymore friends moving away...ok???!!!

Rambo boys!
Our neighbor friend Shelly bought these great water guns last night - the four boys had a ball with them! Aren't they cute?? (it was a bit heavy for them with water in it, especially for Caden!)
I think Caden is trying to get Austin! We'll have to work on his aim...
